EVERY CITY HAS A STORY
WELCOME TO OURS
AESTHETIC. APPEALING. ELEGANT.
LET US WALK THROUGH EKAMRA . BUT WHY EKAMRA ?
Ekamra Kshetra is an ancient name of the capital city of Bhubaneswar whose literal
translation is “the land of a mango tree.” The Ekamra region basically covers the Old Town area of modern-day Bhubaneswar, adorned with an abundance of temples significant for its architecture. The historical value of the name is very well portrayed by the fact that the word Ekamra whirls as a substitute for ‘Bhubaneswar’, even today. Guided Walkthroughs and other selected experiences will reinvent the way we connect to our city and take its story forward.
OLD TOWN TEMPLES
Filled with alleyways, dotted with shrines, beautifully preserved houses and more that transport you back in time. This Old Town in Bhubaneswar is as exotic as it gets. The name of our city itself is associated with a cluster of magnificent temples , comprising virtually a complete record of
KHANDAGIRI UDAYGIRI HILLS
The rocks of these hills were carved and tunneled, to create this multi-storied ancient apartment residence for Jain monks. Not only are these caves testimony to the architectural genius of ancient India, they also bear messages of love, compassion, and religious tolerance.
One of the best preserved early fortifications in India, the ancient city of Sisupalgarh also happens to be the largest one. Historians claim that the place served as the capital city of Kalinga at the time of Kharavela’s reign in Odisha. Later it flourished for guarding the kingdom by its forts.
Celebrating the transformation of one of the cruelest kings to one of the kindest humans in Indian History, Dhauli is the setting that explicitly reflects the change. The foundations of this glorious installation could be a recent one, but the history associated with it goes back to the time before Christ.
